How an engagement works
Introduction
Usually through an advisor or another family. A first conversation, with the founder, and without obligation.
Scope in writing
What we coordinate, what we do not, and any interest we hold in a provider we might recommend.
The family file
One record of what is held, how, who advised on it and what falls due. Kept by us, available to the family.
Annual review
Once a year, the whole picture reviewed with the family and, where they wish, their professionals.
Three commitments, stated plainly
We take nothing for an introduction
No attorney, accountant, banker or adviser pays us to be recommended. The family's interest is the only input to who we put in front of them.
Ownership is disclosed before you engage
Where we hold an interest in a service we recommend, we tell you in writing first. You are free to use someone else, and we will arrange it.
We coordinate; we do not advise
We are not a law firm, accountancy practice or investment adviser, and we do not describe ourselves as one. That boundary protects you as much as us.
Where coordination ends and licensed work begins
We do
- Identify, brief and coordinate the family's professionals
- Direct projects and oversee providers
- Keep the family file and the calendar of what falls due
- Provide real estate brokerage, through the licensed brokerage
We do not
- Give legal, tax or accounting advice
- Give investment advice or manage assets
- Give immigration, insurance or medical advice
- Act as a licensed contractor
Those services are provided by independent licensed professionals retained directly by the family. Maison Gault holds no fee arrangement with any of them.

We take on a small number of families each year. Most arrive through an advisor or another family. If you have been referred, or you act for a family whose affairs in Florida would benefit from a single point of accountability, we would be glad to speak.
